The Impact of Artificial Applause in Sports
Applause from the fans is so important that when NFL teams started playing an applause track the league banned the practice. Since the beginning of live performances in Ancient Greece and Rome, the response from the audience has elevated the performance. It doesn’t matter if it is live music, theater or sports. Without fans and cheering, it isn’t a game, it’s practice.
But what if the fans had control of the applause track? Then it is real feedback from real fans elevating the game isn’t it? That is were Fan2Field comes in. We give the power of the applause track to the fans, specifically remote fans with realtime applause.
If you can live stream your game with a basic webcam, you can hear the fans cheer. We tested it with a bluetooth portable PA system from the local box store with a kids little league game and they went wild. For now the Fan2Stage version is available for free to all sports teams.
